Ontario Darfur Women’s Organization (ODWO) brought women and families together at Woodbine Beach for our “Unity in Action” community event — an afternoon centred on connection, support, culture, and togetherness.
Community members came together to connect with one another, enjoy the afternoon, and access free clothing generously provided by Home Essential Newcomer Support. The event created a welcoming space where women could meet, build relationships, and support one another while strengthening their sense of community.
The afternoon was filled with beautiful moments of cultural celebration, laughter, dancing, and conversation. Women proudly wore colourful traditional clothing, shared stories, took photos together, and celebrated the strength and diversity within our community.
More than anything, Unity in Action reflected the importance of women supporting women. By bringing people together and sharing available resources, we continue working toward a community where women and families feel welcomed, connected, and supported.
