Thanksgiving Community Celebration 2026 – One Community, Many Stories, One Heart

On October 10, 2026, Ontario Darfur Women’s Organization (ODWO) brought together families, friends, and community members for our Thanksgiving Community Celebration.

It was a beautiful evening filled with laughter, delicious food, cultural connections, and wonderful memories. It was a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the importance of community.

One of the most special moments of the evening was recognizing individuals and groups who have made a difference in our community. We presented certificates of appreciation to thank those who supported our fundraising efforts for families affected by the war in Sudan, our dedicated volunteers, community members who continuously give back, and Hajjah Hamde’s group, Banat Baladi, for their support and contributions.

We are especially thankful to everyone who helped organize the celebration, prepared and shared food, supported the activities, and made our guests feel welcome.

Our theme, “One Community, Many Stories, One Heart,” reminds us that even though we all have different stories and experiences, we are stronger when we come together.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, supporters, families, and everyone who joined us. Your kindness and participation made this event truly special.

We look forward to creating more beautiful memories together!

One of the best parts of the day was seeing everyone come together, sharing smiles, laughter, and beautiful moments. It’s these little memories that make our community feel like family. 🍂
